Engineering, Education, Community & Connection
The ASNEngr Greater Chicago Chapter brings together Nepalese engineers, technologists, students, families, and friends to share knowledge, inspire the next generation, preserve our culture, and give back to the community.
Since its formation, the Greater Chicago Chapter has grown beyond professional engineering and have invited technologist under our umbrella. Our members actively contribute their time, knowledge, and resources through educational programs, community partnerships, youth activities, and family events.
Our Community Impact:
– Supporting Health & Community Spirit
We support local community initiatives that promote health, teamwork, and an active lifestyle. The chapter has sponsored a local running team participating in 5K and 10K races, encouraging community members to stay active while supporting one another.
– Preserving Nepali Language & Culture
We work with local organizations to provide opportunities for Nepali children to learn to read and write in Nepali. By supporting language education, we help young people maintain a meaningful connection with their heritage and culture.
– Inspiring the Next Generation Through Engineering & AI
Our volunteers organize educational programs for middle and high school students, introducing them to Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, and emerging technologies. These hands-on learning opportunities encourage students to explore STEM education and consider future careers in technology and engineering.
– Hands-On Technology Education
We provide students with practical opportunities to understand technology beyond the classroom. In our computer-building activities, students learn how to assemble a computer from the ground up, identify its major components, and understand how the different parts work together.
– Building a Stronger Community
We believe that a strong professional organization also needs a strong community. Our Winter Family Nights and Summer Family Picnics bring engineers, families, children, and friends together to build relationships, celebrate our community, and create lasting connections.
– Inspiring Through Service
Our chapter is committed to using the knowledge and experience of engineers and technology professionals to make a difference. Whether we are supporting local communities, teaching students, promoting STEM education, preserving Nepali language and culture, or bringing families together, our goal is the same.
