ASNEngr-Student Committee Appointment

Amongst our ASNEngr’s various committees, the “Student Committee” team will be responsible to play a role of bridge between students & professionals & eventually assist us to achieve our ASNEngr’s objectives from every way possible. We are glad to appoint Bishal Khadka as the Chair of ASNEngr-Student Committee & Upendra Ayer as Vice-Chair of ASNEngr-Student Committee unanimously from our executive committee & Board of Directors. As the core objective will be to link between students & professionals, our “Student Committee” team will include young professionals & current students from all across the nation. The team will work collaboratively that includes collecting student databases, networking, coordinating in our fellowships/merit awards, conferences/programs, exploring the available research & funding for students inside & outside ASNEngr as well as connecting students with academicians/professionals/potential opportunities.

Bishal Khadka is a 2019 graduate from Virginia Tech with a M.S. in Civil/Structure Engineering. He is currently working as a Structural Engineer in a renowned engineering firm “Simpson Gumpertz & Heger (SGH)” at Washington, D.C. He has demonstrated his leadership & teamwork capability while working/leading at various student societies including Founding President of Civil Engineering Student’s Society (CESS) and top of his class at I.O.E. Thapathali Campus & also as a committee member & Vice-President at Earthquake Engineering Research Institute (EERI)-Student chapter at Virginia Tech. He is also a member of Structural Engineering Institute (SEI) and American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE).

Upendra Ayer is a 2018 graduate from the University of Toledo with a B.S. in Civil Engineering. He is currently working as an Assistant Transportation/Highway Engineer in a renowned engineering firm “WSP USA” at Baltimore, Maryland. He has a good experience in networking, coordination & working in a team environment. He is also a member of American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) & American Society of Highway Engineers (ASHE).
